About our Founder – Dr. Nick Buys
Namibia Vet Safaris was founded by Dr. Nick Buys, a highly respected Namibian wildlife veterinarian with years of hands-on experience in the field. Born and raised in the beautiful Namibia, Dr. Buys developed a deep passion for wildlife from a young age — a passion that has grown into a lifelong commitment to animal health and conservation.
With a wealth of expertise in wildlife veterinary science, Dr. Buys plays an active role in several conservation programs. His deep knowledge, practical experience, and personal dedication make every safari an enriching and educational adventure for our guests.

Our Wildlife Veterinarian Programs are designed for university students, study groups, and educational institutions seeking a behind-the-scenes look into the world of wildlife veterinary work in Namibia. These programs offer participants the rare opportunity to observe and engage in real-life fieldwork, guided by experienced professionals, including Dr. Buys himself.
Participants gain hands-on exposure to wildlife handling, immobilization, disease management, research, rehabilitation and other critical aspects of veterinary science in conservation settings.
Specialty Conservation Safaris with a purpose
